The Gibson EDS-1275 is an electric guitar with a double neck, based on the SG model, which was first produced in 1958 as a special edition under the name “Double 12”. The instrument was available with different combinations of the two necks when it was launched, with most of them having twelve strings on the upper neck and six strings on the lower neck, as on the model at hand. ...and the most legendary version was of course always in a fine “Cherry” finish! Who wouldn't immediately think of Jimmy Page and “Stairway to Heaven”? This Doubleneck, which is one of the rare specimens from the Custom Shop, plays simply superbly with its “Slim Taper C” neck profile and Medium/Jumbo frets, is of course in absolutely original condition and the Custombuckers (unpotted Alnico-III) deliver both clean and with distortion the characteristic sounds that have been associated with this musical icon for over 50 years. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this timeless document of Rock'n'Roll history in top condition.
