AEG / Telefunken M15a - 2 Track 1/4" Tape Recorder / Reel-to-Reel / Master Tape Machine

For Sale here is the legendary Telefunken / AEG 15a 2-track studio master tape recorder. If you don't know this machine, a quick google search will confirm its status as one of the best sounding and most stable tape machines ever made. Built like a tank, this thing will last numerous lifetimes and feels like you could roll a tank over the top on it while mixing down your latest track ; )

Its in good condition considering its age, with just a few minor scratches here and there - see pics for more details.

Mechanically, everything is operating well including the motors, the timer display, switches etc. Perhaps it needs calibrating for optimum sound and performance. To my ears, one channel seems a little quieter than the other. However this is easily done as the calibration pots are easily accessible on the front of the unit. Besides, after shipping any tape machine a proper calibration is highly recommended anyway.

XLR adaptors have been added to make it easier to use in a modern studio.
