It’s pretty well known on the studio scene that the Virgil Arlo 54s were the best Strat pickups ever made. They are viewed in the same light as Dumble amps and the Klon.

This TS version was made using the same parts that Virgil Arlo used in his builds. They also meticulously followed the Arlo design, which is known to be one of those most time consuming designs in the industry.

A lot of guys actually say these TS Tan Label re-issues are superior to Virgil’s builds. That’s a pretty hard bar to meet, to exceed it seems unimaginable but then again I’ve heard that the guys at TS are in their 40s and 50s so it’s not hard to believe the TS versions are more consistent than pickups made by someone that recently retired. This is probably the main reason you never see used sets of these Tone Specific Tan Labels for sale. It seems everyone cashed in their White Labels when Arlo retired and replaced them with these equally amazing TS reissues.

For me, the Tan Labels sound and feel about the same as the original White Labels. You can’t go wrong with either set. This set is brand new and it’s never been used so you know it’s in tip-top shape and ready to make your guitar sound amazing.
