ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Sansui BA-F1 is a stereo DC power amplifier produced in Japan from 1979, the flagship of Sansui's acclaimed F1 series alongside the CA-F1 preamplifier. It delivers 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 210 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with a frequency response from 1 Hz to 600 kHz. Its signature Diamond Differential circuit and Sansui Custom NM output transistors in a current-differential push-pull configuration define the design, housed in a symmetric monophonic layout with large chimney-type heat sinks and dual power meters with built-in peak indicators.

The power supply uses a large centrally mounted EI transformer with two independent windings and separate rectifier circuits, filtered by four custom 15,000 uF capacitors. Independent left and right input level controls and separate A/B output switches are provided.

Sonically the BA-F1 offers the full-bodied, powerful low end characteristic of late-1970s Sansui designs, with an open top end and a stable, well-defined soundstage.

・Power Supply Voltage: AC 100V, 50/60 Hz (Japanese domestic model). Please use a suitable step-down transformer in 110–240V regions.
