Fender Japan (MIJ) Stratocaster ST62
I believe this is a ST62-70TX in what appears to be a rare custom color (Ocean Turquoise Metallic), but I'm not sure about the “TX” part and if this was a shop order (due to the custom color). It has a T serial and thin "Made in Japan" font, which puts it in 1995, and the TX (Texas Special pickup) model was first released in 1996 (serial numbers rolling into subsequent years is relatively common).
The pickups are black bobbin with cloth wiring, and the middle pickup has a yellow wire, which usually denotes reverse-wound/reverse-polarity. I can't check resistance though, so I can't say for sure if these are Texas Special pickups (no guarantee).
What I can say for certain:
- This is an ST62 model.
- The pickups sound great.
- The electronics all work as expected (no scratchiness).
- Standard ST62 specs, with a medium C neck profile (unlike the thin C profile you normally find on a 1990s ST62).
- Wear throughout, with small dents, dings, scratches, and other marks, including a mark on the neck (see pics for details, and feel free to ask for more, if needed).
- Someone drilled a hole for a strap button on the lower horn (see pic).
- Weighs just under 8 lbs.
Includes a gig bag. I always use Reverb Protection. I ship within 3 business days. I will not compensate you for setups after you receive the guitar (guitars often need a setup after being shipped given varying weather and humidity), and there are no returns allowed.
