The Fulltone GT-500 is a dual-channel guitar effects pedal combining an independent F.E.T. (Field-Effect Transistor) high-gain distortion circuit and a separate booster/overdrive circuit in a single enclosure.

• Dual-Channel Design: Features a left-side Booster/Overdrive section and a right-side High-Gain Distortion section, each with true bypass switching. 
• Switchable Signal Path: A center toggle switch lets you change the order of the circuits:
• • Distortion → Boost: Uses the boost side as a clean volume jump.
  • Boost → Distortion: Uses the boost side to slam the front of the distortion side for heavier, saturated gain. 
• Circuit Architecture: Uses 9 FETs, 2 MOSFETs, and 1 transistor with no op-amps or clipping diodes, offering an amp-like feel. 
• EQ Controls:
• • Distortion Side: Volume, Distortion, Bass, Mids, and Treble (featuring a custom-wound inductor-driven midrange circuit).
  • Booster Side: Volume, Drive, Bass, and Highs. 
• Power Requirements: Operates on 9V to 18V DC power; running it at 18V increases headroom, clarity, and crispness. 
• Versions: Available in older gray/silver and updated red finishes (the red version was revised to reduce potential muddiness in the lower-mid distortion range).
