Schecter Traditional Custom Shop – early ’90s – Suhr electronics
For sale is what I believe to be a Schecter Traditional Custom Shop from the early 1990s, a guitar with genuine vintage character combined with some very useful modern upgrades.
It has a beautifully aged Olympic White finish with an extremely thin nitrocellulose lacquer, which has naturally checked over the years and gives the guitar a fantastic authentic vintage look.
The electronics have been upgraded with Suhr V60LP single-coil pickups, a treble bleed circuit, and an additional mod that allows the bridge pickup to be combined with the other two pickups, considerably expanding the tonal palette beyond the standard 5-way switching. Classic Strat-style sounds, but with extra versatility.
The frets are virtually like new, the electronics operate silky smooth, and the guitar is remarkably stable. It can spend months — even years — in its case, and whenever I pick it up it seems to be still in tune and resonant like a bell. It’s one of those guitars that simply feels alive.
My weakness for Mark Knopfler was one of the reasons I bought it, as some of his most iconic work is closely associated with Schecter guitars from this era.
A guitar with the feel, resonance and personality of a vintage instrument, but with electronics and switching that make it extremely versatile by modern standards.
Comes with the G&G “The Original Vintage Case Co.” USA-made hard case shown in the photos.
