I am the original owner. This was my first guitar, purchased in 2001 or 2002. This is the spruce-topped version of the classic cedar/cherry Seagull S6.
The spruce top gives a brighter and bassier sound than the standard mid-range bump that the cedar-topped Seagull S6s are known for. This makes it sound more like a Martin and is great for bluegrass, folk, Americana, or situations where you want a brighter, more percussive sound that doesn't get muddy. Currently set up with D'Addario EJ19 (light top, medium bottom) strings on it which lean into that character.
This is a lovely, amazing guitar and I love the sound but I don't love the 1.8" nut width so I play my 1.72" nut width guitar more and it's time for me to let go of this. I mostly played fingerstyle folk, so this is in excellent condition for a guitar that has been played for over 20 years.
Guitar was always kept in a case when not in use. See pictures for condition, including some play wear on top, frets, and neck, and a small ding in the body.
