"That signature Bach core, kept intact - with a resonance that's deeper and more supple."
The other side of the 180 sound, voiced through a 72 gold brass bell.
[Overview]
Vincent Bach Bb trumpet. Gold brass 72 bell. 25 leadpipe. ML bore. Lacquer finish. Instrument weight 1,106g. Made around 1999. Accessories: Bach double hard case (no key). New price 771,100 yen.
[Condition]
Small shallow dents on the bell flare and bell body have been repaired. Lacquer wear and spotted discoloration are visible over a wide area. Bore cleaned, felts replaced (*), inspected and serviced throughout.
*For the piston inner felts, we use press felts we order specifically for Bach trumpets, for stable alignment and durability, and we fine-tune the felt thickness fitted to each individual instrument.
[Features]
A made-to-order model pairing the standard Vincent Bach 180 series spec with a 72 gold brass bell. Built on the classic 25 leadpipe / ML bore combination, with the added character unique to the 72 bell, a spec now discontinued within the 180 series.
Bach's standard 37 bell lets the bell itself vibrate strongly in a way that's easy for the player to feel, giving a clear, edgy articulation as its main appeal. The 72 bell, by contrast, has a somewhat gentler bell resonance, giving the sound image more depth and ease. Combined with the warmth of gold brass, it draws out a deeper, more refined resonance while keeping its thickness.
It projects plenty of volume without ever feeling like it's pushing itself forward, spreading richly instead. That generosity is exactly what the 72 bell brings to the table. This particular instrument also has good pitch balance, with an even response from low to high register. It suits wind ensembles and orchestras just as well as pop music.
Made around 1999, with lacquer wear and discoloration visible over a wide area, but the piston seal and clearances on each slide remain in healthy condition. Bore cleaned, felts replaced, and serviced throughout. Recommended for anyone who doesn't mind the cosmetic wear and simply wants to enjoy the rich resonance unique to the 72 bell.
