By connecting it between the instrument signal and the send/return loop, it can detect and suppress noise from each effect independently, regardless of whether those effects are on or off. The pedal switch can also function as a mute switch in addition to the normal/noise-reduction toggle. When used with an AC adapter and parallel cord, it can serve as a valuable power source for vintage BOSS compact pedals that require ACA power.
