Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a excellent sounding and rarer 1980's or 90's era Audio Technica ATM63HE (Hi-Energy) dynamic hyper cardioid microphone that has very strong output and set at Low impedance. This mic was strong suggested for using with toms, snare, guitar cabinet, piano and vocals. It comes with it's original mic clip and nice padded Audio Technica mic pouch. This is a fantastic Audio Technica product and easily on par with any fine dynamic cardioid mic of that era. A very masculine and aggressive looking mic.
This ATM63HE looks almost identical to the ATM29HE but both mics had slightly different uses. This is actually the very first ATM63HE I have ever come across. It does sound quite lovely and being built in Japan you know it's quality and built to last.
This mic was what was part of "The Artist Series" according to Audio Technica.
This ATM29HE has an attractive dark green / grey paint scheme on an all metal body and is quite rugged. This mic has a bit of weight so it. Built like a tank but comes with the original mic clip as well so you can mount the mic to any desk or floor stand you have.
I don't have much experience with these Audio Technica mics but I can tell you the sound is quality and has a warm, smooth tone. Very appealing and the pop filter is top notch. You can use a larger foam exterior pop filter if you want for improved sound but the stock is just fine. I am including the new Auray brand foam exterior pop filter just in case you want that added layer of protection and it looks very attractive on the mic fitting very nicely as well. The mic has exceptional uni-directional characteristics as well picking up only what's directly in front of it due to it being a hyper cardioid mic. Not sure of the exact date on this mic but I'm thinking 1980's or early 90's?
The mics specs are listed below...

As you can see there is just lite cosmetic wear on the painted finish of this mic. Just lite scuff marks and scratches. The front screen is metal and free of any dents, odors or tarnish. Original inner pop filter / foam was wore out so a new one was installed and helps greatly. The Audio Technica label shows no wear and completely legible. The mic has a unique design that is very modern and elegant looking like few other stick mics out there.
This mic is appx 7 inches tall X 1 1/2 inches wide at the tip.
The mic takes a standard XLR cable though none is provided. I did clean the XLR pins on this mic ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached.
The original A.T model mic clip which works very well and shows no wear. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand and gives a great degree of tilt up and down. It grasps the mic extremely well.
The beautiful black vinyl mic pouch is also included and a great place to keep the mic when not in actual use. It's padded and the zipper on top works perfectly. Pouch shows no physical wear at all.
If you need an extremely rugged, high quality mic for just about any situation...the ATM63HE will get the job done every time.
MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
Overall I would rate this mic an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department though many would rate much higher.
As with all my vintage microphone and related items...
