The Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 Aged is one of the most sought-after models Martin has produced in recent years. Built in 2018, the Authentic Series is crafted with exceptional attention to historical accuracy and represents the very best of Martin's modern craftsmanship. Hide glue construction, authentic 1937 bracing and the factory aged finish make this guitar remarkably close to an original pre-war D-28.

A true highlight is the solid Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. Tonally, Madagascar Rosewood is considered the closest alternative to the legendary Brazilian Rosewood, offering powerful bass, exceptional clarity, superb note separation and outstanding dynamics. Martin no longer uses Madagascar Rosewood for the Authentic Series, making these guitars increasingly desirable among players and collectors alike.

Combined with the solid Adirondack spruce top, this guitar delivers a huge, open and incredibly resonant sound. It responds instantly, offers outstanding projection and excels at both powerful strumming and delicate fingerstyle playing. This is without doubt one of the best sounding Martin D-28 guitars we have ever had in our shop.

The original purchase invoice from the first owner is included.

Condition:
Very good condition. The factory aged finish already gives the guitar the appearance of a well-played vintage instrument, with only a few additional signs of use acquired over the years. The frets show light wear but remain in very good condition with no need for replacement. The guitar has been carefully checked and professionally set up by us.

Please note that one latch on the original case no longer closes properly because the small metal catch has broken off (see photos). The broken metal catch is included with the case.
