1926 Vega Tubaphone Plectrum Resonator Banjo with Humbucker Pickup and Case

DESCRIPTION:

Vintage Vega Tubaphone plectrum banjo dating from 1926, fitted with a resonator and humbucker pickup.

This four-string plectrum banjo features Vega’s highly regarded Tubaphone tone-ring system, providing excellent clarity, projection and sustain. The resonator adds further focus and volume, making it suitable for traditional jazz, ensemble playing and amplified performance.

A humbucker pickup has been installed, with the output jack positioned on the left side of the rim. The jack placement does not necessarily make the instrument left-handed, if you use a angled jack plug; it can be restrung and set up according to the player’s preferred orientation. the pickup can also be removed.

There is a small pinhole in the banjo head. This is clearly disclosed and visible in the photographs. The instrument is in Good vintage condition, with normal marks, scratches, finish wear, hardware ageing and evidence of previous use and modification.

A hard case is included.
