The Mojave MA-1000 large diaphragm tube condenser is the pinnacle of David Royer's tube mic designs. Using premium components like a NOS 5840 subminiature tube, custom Coast Magnetics transformer and a CK12-style capsule as used in the famed C 12 and ELA M 251 microphones, the MA-1000 is a remarkable vocal microphone that also shines on acoustic instruments, amplifiers and drum overheads. Switches for a bass rolloff and -15dB pad mean you can get the MA-1000 directly on top of any source, no matter how loud. Once it's in place, dial through the polar patterns to get as much or as little room sound as you desire while also subtly changing the frequency response of the mic. An unmistakable air and silk at the top end of the frequency response sits anything you record with the MA-1000 comfortably atop the entire mix, rarely needing any EQ to fit the track into the arrangement.
