Terry Bozzio redefined the drum set, transforming it into a fully melodic, orchestral instrument. He achieved legendary status in the 1970s by conquering Frank Zappa's notoriously unplayable The Black Page. His fierce technicality, blended with deep groove and remarkable musicality, helped propel Missing Persons into the New Wave mainstream and anchored Jeff Beck's powerhouse trio. His pioneering use of melodic ostinatos and tuned percussion expanded the boundaries of drum design, tuning, and acoustic engineering. His Melodic Drumming & the Ostinato and Solo Drums instructional videos inspired generations of drummers, demonstrating that the musical possibilities of the drum set are virtually endless.

This 5x13" DW Collector's Series Solid Shell Snare Drum features a one-piece solid maple shell handcrafted by Johnny Craviotto during his celebrated partnership with Drum Workshop. Finished in Transparent Black Satin Oil with black Collector's Series hardware and DW True Hoops, it represents one of DW's most desirable and collectible solid-shell designs.

The drum retains Terry Bozzio's original autographed batter head. We left the velcro strips that Terry added to protect the drum from rattling against adjacent drums in his tightly packed monstrous kit to preserve an authentic detail from his working setup.

The shell, bearing edges, and hardware remain in excellent working condition with honest cosmetic wear consistent with professional touring and recording use.

This is a stage-played and signed artifact from one of the most influential drummers of our time.
