This is a 1990 Tube Works MV-962 Mosvalve power amp which I have just serviced.
• Cleaned pots jacks
• tested and calibrated
• pushed beyond any reasonable stage volume (dimed) loud, clear and warm tone.
• confirmed is in perfect working order.
• Caps tested well enough not to need immediate replacement, (message if you’d like that done at cost before purchase)
If you’re running a modeler like a Quad Cortex / Fractal / Helix and find certain popular Class D power amps, you absolutely need this thing.
Internally and functionally it’s in excellent condition.
Externally it won’t win any awards but the silkscreen is still 99% there which is rare.
The face / rack panel looks to have been bent and then bent back but the alignment is still good for racking.
This is an early model and therefore does not bridge but will push any stereo cab or full stack louder than your drummer can hit.
80w may not sound like a lot by modern standards but this thing is loaded with original Hitachi K135 / J50 LATERAL MOSFETS. These things are absolutely gold in the hifi world for how loud, clear tube-like they are (and as long as you follow impedance rules!) near indestructible.
I bypassed of the power section of the VH140C it’s sitting on to compare the output. Ran into a stereo 212 loaded with EV12L, several things fell off of shelves and broke haha!
