Since its founding in 1916 by Samuel K. Kamaka, Kamaka Ukuleles has reigned as a top brand of Hawaiian ukulele manufacturer, boasting skilled craftsmanship and rigorous quality control. This instrument is a used 2016 tenor-sized deluxe model "HF-3D". Befitting a deluxe model, it features Hawaiian koa sides and back with densely figured grain, a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Schaller wood button gear tuners. Unlike the standard model, it is characterized by its meticulously crafted rope-design binding and rosette. Furthermore, this instrument was made in the year of Kamaka's 100th anniversary, and the body label and head logo are 100th-anniversary specifications. With its large body volume and the tension and playability unique to a tenor scale, it is a highly performance-oriented model. It has a solid presence whether strumming or playing solos, making it ideal for more active playing. Combined with Kamaka's characteristic thick, sweet tone, this guitar produces a very vibrant sound. There are some surface dents around the 4th and 5th frets on the back of the neck, and a few minor scratches due to the thin finish elsewhere.
