The ENGL Marty Friedman "Inferno" E766 is a 100-watt signature amplifier engineered specifically for high-gain shred and modern metal. Developed in collaboration with Megadeth's lead guitarist, this amp delivers the aggressive, articulate voicing required for fast-picked passages and complex harmonic work while maintaining clarity across extreme gain settings.

Tone Engine & Gain Architecture

Four distinct voices—Clean, Crunch, Soft Lead, and Heavy Lead—allow players to move between styles without losing the amp's core character. Each channel features its own 3-band EQ and switchable gain boost, alongside a Bright switch for adding extra bite and a built-in noise gate to manage feedback and unwanted noise at high volumes.

Tube Complement & Power Delivery

The E766 uses 4 x Engl ECC83 / 12AX7 preamp tubes and 4 x Engl EL34 output tubes, providing thick, responsive saturation and dynamic headroom. Multiple speaker output options—1 x 4Ω, 1 x 8Ω, 1 x 16Ω, 2 x 8Ω, and 2 x 16Ω—offer flexibility in cabinet matching and impedance configuration.
