This is a set of miniature replicas of Eddie Van Halen's three most famous guitars. They were hand built This is a set of miniature replicas of Eddie Van Halen's three most famous guitars. They were hand built and painted, no template was used for the artwork. They are guaranteed to be one of a kind. Each guitar is 30" in length with a 21.5" scale length. They are each fully playable. Their small size makes them perfect for travel—one can fit easily in a full‑size suitcase. They also look incredible displayed as a set on a wall or stand in your favorite room. The guitars would make a perfect addition to a man cave, bar, or studio and are great conversation pieces to have around when you have company. Most importantly, they are just fun little guitars to play. Their small size makes them fit easily in your lap while you're noodling on the couch. Some people claim that a mini guitar even leads them to practice more often. You can take them with you just about anywhere.

The guitars’ stripes were all taped off and painted using the same technique Eddie used. They weren’t applied randomly; they follow the same patterns as the original instruments as closely as possible. The red Frankenstrat has been relic’d, giving it a road‑worn appearance. It even comes with actual cigarette burns on the headstock. It also has a 1971 Denver‑mint quarter mounted below the bridge. Those are two of the most unique features of the original guitar. The black‑and‑white guitar includes a gold Gibson sticker on its headstock to replicate the one Eddie placed on his own guitar while recording their first album—before the record label's lawyers made him remove it.

Despite all being the same size and scale length, each guitar is unique. The primary difference is the neck profile. The black and white guitar has an ultra thin 80s shredder type neck similar to what Jackson and Ibanez were producing at the time. The Bumblebee has more of a chunky, vintage Gibson-like profile. The Frankenstrat falls somewhere in the middle in line with a typical modern day strat. It's not a set of 3 identical instruments. You'll find that you favor playing one of them over the other two.

Here are a few additional details:

  • All three guitars have lightweight basswood bodies and are covered in a light clear coat to protect the finish. They were all finished by hand and have a DIY appearance, they don't look like they were something mass produced in a factory. The guitars have a combined weight of only 12.2lbs.
  • They are all equipped with an oil‑finished maple neck and fretboard. Each has 21 frets, a 10" radius, and a modern C‑shape profile. Despite their smaller size, the necks are proportioned closely to a standard full-sized neck, with only slightly reduced fret spacing. They feel very much like full‑sized instruments when playing. All three have a customary 43mm nut.
  • Each guitar is equipped with a single high-output ceramic humbucker. They all have a single 500K pot that controls the volume and are each topped with a tone knob to replicate Eddie's originals. The guitars will sound their best when you crank up the gain. They sound especially good when played through an overdrive pedal.
  • All three are equipped with a brand new set of Schaller-style tuners with a 15:1 gear ratio. They feel tight, turn smoothly and are very precise. They each have a single butterfly style string tree.
  • Each guitar is also fitted with Eddie’s signature eye‑hook type strap buttons. The Frankenstrat is strung with D'Addario 11-49 strings, the other two with Ernie Ball 10-46s. The guitars will feel and play more like a full sized instrument if you use alternate tuning. G standard tuning (GCFA#D) works well but you might want to experiment to see what works best for you.
