The 424 MKII Preamp draws inspiration from the raw, gritty distortion and wide-ranging EQ control of classic cassette 4-track recorder preamps, delivering a unique lo-fi character with modern flexibility.
An added switchable buffer expands the pedal’s versatility, significantly altering its gain structure and tonal response. This feature allows the 424 MKII to better accommodate high-impedance guitar signals, unlocking a broad spectrum of tones, from subtle clean boosts and treble enhancement to warm, dark textures and aggressive, saturated distortion.
Disengaging the buffer provides a more direct, authentic response, closely replicating the sound of plugging a guitar straight into a vintage 4-track preamp.
