VIDEO! 1960s Klira/Triumphator Modell 600 - made in Germany - pro setup, ready-to-play

General introduction and background:

Beautiful and very rare Klira “Modell 600”, made in the mid 1960s for the Triumphator label. Triumphator was a label created by German mall chain “Quelle” to sell musical instruments. Inside the body, it says “Modell 600”, but the form of the body follows the better known Klira Ohio shape; albeit, the faux crocodile vinyl cover and slightly different pickup configuration indicates that this was a different model – or a variant of the Ohio.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. But please read the description carefully.

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  618 mm (Mustang-style shortscale)

-Nut: ca 4,2 cm

-Weight: 2,76 kg

-Pickups: two original singlecoils, measuring at about 5,7k. The pickups are controlled with a 3 way rotary switch and a master volume and master tone poti.

-Body: solid wood, likely poplar or basswood

-Neck:  slim D-shape, maple with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a flat, likely 12’’ radius and small vintage frets.

Condition:

-Body: the vinyl is in good shape and shows little to no signs of shrinkage around the edges.

-Neck: straight and good condition, frets have only very minor crevasses, no buzz or deadpots.

-Head: ok condition with some clear signs of wear and tear, but no breaks.

-Hardware: normal signs of aging

-Electrics: works

-Originality: all original except for the pot knobs and the screws.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: the guitar plays surprisingly well with a low string action and overall buttery feeling, but don’t expect modern shredding comfort from this clearly vintage fretboard and the small frets.

-Sound: Please check out the video for a sound demo. These guitars have their own unique sound, with a lot of twang, slightly microphonic (it will squeal when you use high-gain).

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled

-Electronics cleaned and serviced

-Pro setup of string action, pickup height and intonation

-New 10 gauge all nickel Pyramid strings put on – play it in!

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or gigbag included. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you need a case, a 4/4 classical guitar case will fit well. I can buy one at your cost for the shipping, just let me know.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
