This is the first Mark Knopfler signature Martin, made for a short period of time in 2002. A total of 251 guitars were made (this is n. 25).
The guitar featured an Alpine Spruce top (Val di Fiemme), Selected Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck, and Ebony fingerboard 42-style Snowflake inlays and Mark’s signature between the 19th and 20th frets.
Mark used this guitar for the recording of the entirety of The Ragpicker’s Dream album in 2002, and in several live concerts.
In excellent overall condition. Minimal signs of use consistent with age.
Very comfortable action and perfect playability. Warm, articulate sound, with great projection and detail, ideal for both fingerpicking and dynamic strumming. A true collector's item, but also a top-quality professional instrument.
Mark Knopfler's touch is evident throughout: refined, expressive, unique. This particular model features a serial number tag signed by Mark Knopfler himself! A truly collectible gem.
The pin hole is slightly enlarged (a pickup has been installed and them removed), but it's not noticeable because a special pin is installed.
