The Fredric Effects Verzerrer is a pedal that recreates the gBohm Trickverzerrer,h said to be the only distortion effect pedal made in East Germany using vintage transistors and diodes.
Produced from the 1960s through the 1970s, that pedal produced a unique distortion sound with a slightly vintage character, but from todayfs perspective, it was impractical due to features such as a 5-pin DIN connector, a plastic enclosure, and the use of trimpots.

The Verzerrer accurately reproduces the original circuit using the same components, while also delivering the volume levels required by todayfs music scene. It has been redesigned to fit the standard style of modern pedalboards, offering improved usability.
Internal DIP switches allow you to apply boost or noise reduction, or set the volume to match that of the original model.

Controls
TONE: Adjusts the treble/bass response of the effect.
VOLUME: Adjusts the overall volume.
INPUT LEVEL: Adjusts the input signal level. This works only in the attenuation direction and is used for pickups with high output.
INTENSITY: Controls the circuit gain.
BIAS: Controls the sustain of the effect. Setting it low produces a gated sound.

Internal DIP Switches
NR1, NR2: Noise reduction. Set to the up position to turn it on, suppressing hiss and noise mixed in with the sound decay.
Limit Res: Switches to the volume level of the original Trickverzerrer.
Boost Off: When set to ON, the sound is produced without boost.
Boost On x2: Setting both DIP switches to ON enables the boost.

The default settings are OFF, OFF, ON, ON, OFF, OFF.
