I’ve designed this cute little “pedal” to mess up the sound of your favorite (or least favorite) analog overdrive, distortion, or fuzz. El Starve drops the power to your pedal to around 2.8V, creating a weird, glitchy sound similar to a dying battery. It’s fairly unpredictable, but it also features an on/off switch on top to completely bypass it. If your guitar pedal can run on a 9V battery, chances are El Starve will work with it.

  • 3D printed and hand-wired in Quebec, Canada
  • Center-negative 9V (5.5mm x 2.1mm) connectors (industry standard)
  • Drops voltage to around 2.8V when used with a standard 9V power supply
  • Use only with analog pedals that do not feature a built-in voltage regulator
  • Check your manufacturer's instructions to ensure your pedal can be safely voltage-starved
  • Will not work with digital pedals (doing so risks damaging your pedal)
  • Use a dedicated power supply for El Starve; avoid daisy chains
