Tosco Super T 20" Medium Ride 2121g Rotocasting Vintage Italian Cymbal

Extremely hammered Italian Rotocasting ride with dark fundamental tone, bright presence and a complex bell.

This Tosco Super T features the famous Italian Rotocasting method, a unique manufacturing process most famously known from vintage UFIP cymbals. It offers a fantastic alternative for drummers seeking the dark, complex character of rare Italian jazz rides or early Spizzichino creations, but with its own distinct sonic footprint.

At 2121g this is very light for a 20" Italian Rotocasting ride. Despite the Medium designation the low weight places it clearly in medium light territory while still remaining unmistakably a ride cymbal.

This cymbal does not sound traditionally Turkish and it does not resemble the typical Paiste sound aesthetic either. Dark and bright at the same time with a very distinctive character.

The heavily hammered surface creates a highly textured and complex response. Especially the bell has got a distorted overtone structure with a raw and complex voice.

One of the most impressive qualities of this cymbal is how well it works at low volume. It does not need much force to project musically and retains its complexity and presence even during very quiet playing.

Crash accents open up quickly while remaining focused and controlled.

The Tosco Super T series belongs to the only genuine Tosco line produced before the Sabian acquisition. Bill Ward also played Tosco cymbals in his early days with Black Sabbath.
