The LC-1 design has the geometry of a coaxial cable, but with extremely low capacitance and a heavy, high-conductivity shield: two 95% covered bare copper braids, stacked on top of each other. This both provides the best shielding available at analog audio frequencies and provides a low impedance path between devices to prevent ground loop noise. Low capacitance to prevent high frequency dropouts; high shielding efficiency at analog audio frequencies.
