Taylor workshop—founded by Bob Taylor as a boutique extension of Taylor Guitars focused on premium, small-shop instruments. These guitars are known for their top-tier materials, craftsmanship, and refined tonal character, and this example is no exception.

This guitar features a beautifully figured Swiss Alpine spruce top with subtle flame, paired with striking straight-grain cocobolo back and sides in a rich reddish-brown hue. The tone is articulate and dynamic, with excellent headroom, clarity, and warmth—well suited for both fingerstyle and flatpicking. The modified X bracing helps deliver balance, projection, and responsiveness across the tonal spectrum.

The tropical mahogany neck has a comfortable slim profile, paired with an ebony fingerboard for smooth playability and precision. The 25.5" scale length and 1-3/4" nut width make it versatile and player-friendly.

Visually, this guitar is loaded with high-end appointments. Flamed koa binding is used throughout—on the body, neck, headstock, and back center strip—with a matching koa heel cap. The rosette features abalone with a flamed koa-bound inner ring, adding a refined custom touch. Mother-of-pearl position markers are elegantly set into the koa neck binding, and the ebony headstock overlay is inlaid with the R. Taylor signature in MOP.

Additional premium features include an ebony bridge, bone nut, compensated bone saddle, and gold Gotoh 510 tuners with a 21:1 gear ratio for smooth, precise tuning.

This guitar is in excellent condition and has been well cared for. It includes the original R. Taylor Ameritage hardshell case.
