The Bourgeois Hawaiian GA-C Downeast Series Launch Edition is a stunning expression of everything that makes koa so captivating. Built with a figured koa top, back, and sides, this Grand Auditorium with Venetian cutaway offers a voice that is at once warm, articulate, and alive with shimmering overtones. The figured koa brings remarkable visual depth as well, with rich golden hues and dramatic flame that seem to move beneath the gloss finish.

The Downeast Series represents a unique collaboration between Bourgeois Guitars and Eastman, pairing Eastman's world-class craftsmanship with the design philosophy and tonal vision of Dana Bourgeois. After decades behind the bench as founder of Bourgeois Guitars, Dana has built a reputation as one of the most respected luthiers in the world. For the Downeast Series Launch Edition instruments, that connection becomes even more special, as only the Launch Series guitars are personally hand-voiced by Dana Bourgeois himself. That extra level of attention gives this guitar a responsiveness, balance, and refinement that immediately sets it apart.

Every detail of the Hawaiian GA-C Launch Edition is executed with understated elegance. Ivoroid body, fingerboard, and headstock bindings frame the figured koa beautifully, while the ivoroid on-end rosette and black/ivoroid on-end/black top purfling add a touch of vintage-inspired sophistication. The square headstock with volute is topped with a striking ziricote veneer and finished with the classic ivoroid Bourgeois logo. A matching ziricote fingerboard and bridge continue the dark, elegant contrast against the luminous koa, accented by simple ivoroid dot inlays and ivoroid bridge pins.

With its 25.5" scale length, 1 23/32" nut width, and comfortable 2.20" bridge spacing, the Hawaiian GA-C offers a familiar, versatile playing experience equally suited to fingerstyle work and dynamic flatpicking. The gloss body finish highlights every nuance of the koa figure, while the satin neck finish keeps the feel smooth and effortless in the hand. Gotoh chrome open gear tuners provide reliable precision and a classic look.

Weighing just 4 lbs 6 oz and housed in its included hard case, the Bourgeois Hawaiian GA-C Downeast Series Launch Edition is far more than a beautiful guitar. It is a rare opportunity to own a piece of the Downeast Series at its very beginning, and one of the few instruments in the line touched directly by Dana Bourgeois himself.
