What makes growing up in America so great? The answer is simple. Cars, guitars, and members of the opposite sex (but not necessarily in that order). While it's interesting to note that all three can share a similar shape, only one can hold the other two, only two are fun to hold, and only playing one really well will get you the other two. So, if you want all three, obviously the best place to start is with a guitar. And if your dreams involve little red Corvettes (or even yellow and black ones) and a romantic drive down the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu Beach with a California girl, then we have the guitar for you! The Paul Reed Smith 427 Corvette Standard 22. Paul Reed Smith L06 Corvette Standard 22 at a Glance:

  • Carved mahogany body with black finish.
  • Dragon II treble and bass pickups with covers, Volume and tone control with 5-way rotary pickup selector.
  • PRS stoptail bridge.

What's Under the Hood? This racy little speedster is an homage to America's first and greatest sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette. It's based on the PRS Standard 22 but features a Corvette banner below the bridge, the same finishes found on production model Corvettes and a standard "427" logo inlay on the neck or an optional Z06 inlay. The body of the Corvette is all mahogany, which was chosen for its musical midrange tonal qualities. Compared to the Standard 24, the shorter neck of the Standard 22 further contributes to its warmth. Dragon II pickups with nickel silver covers and volume and tone control with 5-way rotary pickup selector complete this classic guitar package. The Corvette neck has a 25" scale length and is carved in a wide-fat profile with a rosewood fingerboard. Available hardware is a a PRS stoptail bridge with PRS tremolo optional, and PRS 14:1 Phase II low mass locking tuners.
