Vintage Boss OD-1 OverDrive made in Japan, featuring a very early serial number (#0100).

The founding pedal of the great Boss dynasty, the Boss OD-1 Overdrive is not only the first Boss pedal produced in their signature Compact Effector chassis, but also one of the very first overdrives ever made. The OD-1, in addition to all the warm, vintage, tube-like overdrive tones the pedal is known for, is built on a quad op-amp chip and features a simple two-knob interface.

This unit is in good used condition overall. Cosmetically, it shows normal wear for its age, somewhere between good and fair, but nothing out of the ordinary for a pedal from this era.

Electronically, it is in excellent working condition. The circuit is the later revision using a JRC op-amp, delivering the classic OD-1 tone: smooth, mid-forward overdrive that stacks beautifully and cuts through a mix with ease.

All potentiometers are clean and operate smoothly with no scratchy noise.

I can install Boss type knobs before shipping with pleasure, but I think that these one looks amazing! I can also replace the capacitors with low ESR audio grade Nichicon caps prior to shipping upon request, for added peace of mind.

A great player-grade vintage OD-1
