Greco SE-500S (1977) – Vintage Made in Japan Strat-Style

This appears to be a Greco SE-500S, although I want to be fully transparent that I’m not 100% certain. The SE-600S from the 1977 catalog looks almost identical and was priced higher at the time. So you might actually be getting an SE-600S instead — but just to be fair and on the safe side, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and list it as an SE-500S.

Overall condition is very good for its age. All electronics are original and working properly. There is a bit of minor crackling in the tone control, which should be easily resolved with contact cleaner.

The neck is straight with no warping, and the truss rod still has room for adjustment in both directions. There is some finish peeling on the neck (as shown in the photos), but this is purely cosmetic and does not affect playability.

The frets are in good condition with plenty of life left — I’d estimate around 70% remaining. There is no noticeable fret buzz, and the guitar plays cleanly.

Sound-wise, this guitar really delivers. It’s not just a collectible piece of late '70s Japanese craftsmanship, but also a solid, reliable instrument that’s ready to be played.

A great opportunity to own a piece of vintage Japanese guitar history — whether you’re a collector or a player.

There are some dents and marks due to its age, but none of these affect the guitar’s playability or sound in any way.

Other than that, it’s in great shape and ready to be played. A vintage gem with tons of character and great potential!

there has been many cases in reverb where people buy out of an impulse of unreal expectations toward the instrument, and then regret buying and return the instrument, damaging the community trust, so please, lets communicate and make sure you know what are you buying, but rest asure all my instruments are in excellent conditions and are jus as published!
