Lell Tube Star was created in Russia in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when the demand for affordable analogues of Western tube guitar effects increased in the music market. The pedal became one of the few tube pedals developed in Russia, which attracted the attention of domestic musicians who wanted to get a classic tube sound without the high cost of imported devices. The Lell company, which specialized in the production of guitar and bass effects, sought to offer a product with a rich sound reminiscent of the analog overdrive of tube amplifiers, which was in demand among blues and rock musicians.
