Ibanez GB10-BS George Benson Signature (21-Fret) 1977 - 1979 - Sunburst

The 1979 Ibanez GB10 George Benson Signature is a highly collectible Japanese-made hollowbody guitar, notable for being one of the earliest iterations of the longest-running signature model in Ibanez history. Introduced in 1977, the 1979 version is part of the "first era" of production, often featuring 21 or 22 frets depending on the specific production month, as the model transitioned during this period. This particular one has 22 frets.

Specifications: Constructed at the FujiGen factory in Japan, the 1979 model was designed to offer the warm, traditional jazz tone of a large archtop in a more compact, stage-friendly format. 

• Body Construction: Features a laminated spruce top with maple back and sides. The body is approximately 14.75 inches wide and 3.375 inches deep.
• Neck & Fretboard: A 3-piece maple set-neck with an ebony fingerboard. It features pearl/acrylic and abalone split-block inlays.
• Electronics: Equipped with dual GB Special floating mini-humbuckers. These pickups are suspended (floating) to allow the top to vibrate freely, enhancing resonance and sustain.
• Hardware: Includes a height-adjustable ebony bridge, a unique adjustable split-trapeze tailpiece, and a half-bone/half-brass nut for a balanced tonal character. 

This guitar has seen a lot of use and has the patina and mojo of a well gigged guitar. Now that it has had some love and a very good setup it's ready to play some jazz and blues.
