Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Jaguar neck, freshly refretted with vintage spec Dunlop 6230 fretwire. This first-year Pre-CBS Jaguar neck features clay dot inlay and a Brazilian rosewood fretboard. The truss rod is responsive with the nut flush with the neck heel, and the neck is straight, tested at tension and playing cleanly in all registers.
The neck carve is slender and fast-feeling, measures .770" deep at the 1st fret and graduating to a full .970" at the 12th fret. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and the headstock retains the original waterslide decal.
The headstock has some cleanly doweled and touched-up extra tuner mounting holes, with some shallow repaired “tear out” in the maple adjacent to the tuner post holes on the headstock face. There is also a shallow, professionally repaired split wrapping the headstock edge by the Low E tuner post and a repaired roughly W-shaped split in the maple on the profile carve behind frets 5-9. This repair is perfectly smooth to the touch and visually reads like wood grain.
