Yamaha FG-360 Nippon Gakki MIJ 1973 w/ upgrades & HSC

Vintage Yamaha FG-360 acoustic guitar; MIJ; recently refurbished/upgraded with new Kluson 20:1 tuners, Graphtech tusq nut and compensated bridge saddle; buffalo horn bridge pins; JLD bridge doctor; fretboard conditioned; frets dressed and polished; setup nicely with new set of Elixir strings. Plays and sounds incredible!

This is a very sought-after model that was only made from 1972-1974 and was not originally for US distribution. This one is in very nice cosmetic condition, especially for its age, and most importantly, does not need an expensive neck reset (as many of these older FGs do). List of recent work done:

- I repaired a few dings on the back of the neck, so now it's smooth as butter.

- I ramped and slotted the bridge for a better break angle over the bridge saddle, and better contact of the string ball ends with the bridge plate.

- I installed a JLD bridge doctor. The top was not bellying at all, but I like to install these both to prevent it, and to add that extra depth and warmth that comes from the device acting as a sound post to better transfer vibration from the top to the sides and back.

- I replaced the nut and bridge saddle with Graphtech Tusq, providing a better E-E string spacing than the narrow factory nut, as well as better sound and performance from the tusq material.

- I replaced the worn out plastic bridge pins with buffalo horn pins.

- I upgraded the tuners with Kluson Revolution 20:1 ratio, allowing for more precise and stable tuning.

This guitar set up very nicely, with low action and a nice straight neck. It plays and sounds fantastic - better than many guitars costing 2 or 3 times as much!

You'd have to pay upwards of $400 for all of this upgrade and refurbishing work, so please consider that with the price. This guitar needs nothing.
