1997 Epiphone Rivoli Bass – Ebony Black Semi-Hollow, Cream Binding, Excellent Condition + Custom Strap & New Case

For sale is my 1997 Epiphone Rivoli bass in Ebony Black finish – a highly regarded Korean-made (Peerless factory) reissue of the classic 1960s semi-hollow design, very similar in vibe and tone to the Gibson EB-2. These '90s Rivolis are known for their warm, breathy, upright-like thump and are increasingly hard to find, especially in the rarer Ebony Black finish with cream multi-ply binding.

Serial number R97H0628 dates it to September 1997. This bass has been strictly studio-kept for the last 20+ years (babied indoors the entire time). Before that, it was owned by a gigging musician who purchased it new in '97.

It is in very good to excellent condition for its age – structurally 100% original, no cracks, neck issues, or fret wear. Plays and sounds fantastic with that classic single humbucker tone. Everything functions perfectly. I upgraded the input jack to a fresh Switchcraft for better reliability. There are signs of use (some smudges on the chrome hardware – no rust or pitting), and some swirls in the clear coat on the back but otherwise it remains super clean.

The only cosmetic imperfection is one very small paint chip on the spine (back edge of the body, see pics). It is minor and superficial, and is mainly visible from the top when the bass is being worn/played. It is barely noticeable during normal use.

I'm downsizing my collection and passing this gem on to someone who will appreciate and play it. These '90s Korean Rivolis hold up incredibly well and are a favorite among players chasing authentic short-scale semi-hollow tone.
