This Ampeg V4B-AV is a limited run version of the amp that was available for ONLY 1 YEAR as a special summer NAAM release in 2005 in Indianapolis. This is NOT the reissue model. This version of the v4b only had 200 units manufactured in 2005, some were available for purchase at NAAM, while others were given to select Ampeg Artists. This unit was the #14th unit produced in May 2005 as reflected in the serial number. The amp head is essentially a V4BH, which is an SVT-CL preamp coupled to a 100 watt all-tube power amp, which is the same power section that was used in the B-15R of the same Era. The beauty of this amp, is even though it is a lower watt amp compared to typical bass amps of this caliber, it allows the tubes to really warm up and push a powerful signal unlike the 300 watt classic counterparts which rely on volume instead of the strong tone. It is in very good condition, with a few cosmetic blemishes. There are two knob covers that have fallen off and some wear and tear on the tolex on the right hand side of the cab. I gigged this unit lightly over 10 years ago, but has just been sitting since with moderate home use.
Includes the V4B-AV amp head, matching 6x10 cab and power cable. Price is slightly negotiable, but reflects the rarity, condition and desirability of this one of a kind Ampeg unit.
