This 1960s Harmony Rocket H53 in vibrant Red Burst is a player's example of one of Harmony’s most iconic hollowbody electric guitars.
There are changes aplenty here, which makes this either a player for you as is, a jazzier version of the Rocket, or a platform for you to modify to your heart's content. The pickguard is obviously not original. The pickup is a Japanese-manufactured, floating jazz humbucker, perhaps from a 70s Ibanez or similar guitar. The Bigsby is a modern part. The tuners are also recent, and they're a nice upgrade that looks the vintage part. The knobs are changed.
The original frets are in place and they're in great shape. Despite all the changes, this guitar looks like it hasn't been played a ton. The neck has a little lift to it where it hits the body - standard Harmony stuff.
A chipboard case is included, likely newer than the guitar.
As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and set up to play its absolute best.
Mahar's Vintage Guitars is a brick-and-mortar and web-based retailer. We are happy to talk with you before you make a purchase. Please reach out if you feel so inclined! We cross market our items here and on our own site, so items are subject to sale elsewhere at any time (however we will never cancel a sale if it happens here first). See our profile here, our Google reviews as well as our 100% positive Reverb feedback. Also, Reverb limits us to only 25 pictures of our items. There is a good chance we have more. Contact us if you’d like to see them. Pricing may be lower elsewhere.
No sales tax for direct sale customers outside California. Reverb sales are always taxed.
