Hello! Up for sale is my pretty cool 1980 (pretty sure on that year) Aria Pro II Les Paul Custom. I am also fairly sure this is part of LC-800 line, just due to specs and appearance from my research. I didn't know a ton about it when I got it. I just knew these are cool 70s/80s era made in japan copies that I had heard great things about.
What appealed most to me with this were its upgrades. As you can tell it is fairly murdered out with all black modern Gotoh hardware (tuners, bridge, and tailpiece) upgraded to make give a cool look that reminds me a lot of Kirk Hammett's famous all blacked out Gibson LPC.
Additionally the pots and pickups here were upgraded to CTS and Seymour Duncan SH2-n in the neck and SH-4 in the bridge. Sonically you get a fantastic sounding instrument here. Something else I had never encountered before is a brass individual string adjustable nut. It is really neat and I've found allows for just a greater range of adjustability to the guitar and playing setup. Maybe it being brass also helps with the overall sound, which again I think is really great out of this thing.
Frets are in overall good shape still, some small divots here and there but nothing that has affected playability to me. They are pictured in as much detail as I could capture across the several photos, so I hope it gives you an exact impression. I would estimate their life at like 70-80%. There are some discoloration marks on them here and there and perhaps with more thorough fret work, I did a basic polish, the discoloration can be cleaned.
I've noticed in my research a common issue with these guitars are with lacquer chipping all around the binding and this example is no different from the many other listings you've probably come across. There are several areas (pictured) where the aged yellowed lacquer is flaking off and while odd to see, I think it give the guitar a unique look and it has never bothered me nor did I find it affecting playability despite the same issue being along the fretboard binding.
