Sorry!!

Please Note! I receive many messages from customers wanting to purchase however it says "out of stock" When going to pay. As I am located in Australia, Reverb only allows PayPal to be the Merchant to manage the payment.

A paypal Account is Not Required and Credit card payment is available. They are simply acting as the Merchant.

If you select any other form of Payment (ie Reverb Payments) etc etc it will say the item is out of stock!

I have contacted Reverb several times about this, but this message seems to be the only solution!

Based on the very Rare EHX Echo 600 form the early 80's.

Modulation, short and long delay switch, feedback and level and blend controls.

more to come....

Technical Specs:

  • 3 x MN3005 Bucket Brigade Device
  • Does NOT use  low voltage BBD Chip, resulting in higher headroom when the effect is engaged
  • True bypass operation
  • 18V DC centre negative power supply requirements; no battery option available
  • Dimensions:
  • Current draw: 85mA
  • There are no internal adjustable trimpots. Changing their position will result in a non functioning pedal.
  • Please only use high quality 18VDC regulated power supply with Boss style Negative tip.
  • Cheap switchmode power supplies, will guarantee noise issues and performance issues!

We recommend but not limited to:• Voodoo Lab Pedal Power ® 2 Plus etc.• Cioks DC7/4/8/10/SOL.• Walrus Audio Phoenix.• T-Rex® Chameleon Fuel Tank• Truetone 1 Spot PRO CS7/12 only• Gigrig Generator• Eventide PowerMax / Mini• Strymon Zuma/Zuma R300/Ojai R30• Donner® DP-4 ISO 8 PLUS• Fender Engine Room LVL8 / LVL12• Mosky®C8 Power Station  • Dunlop ECB004 18VDC*PLEASE NOTE: * Dunlop ECB004 18VDC is an economical switchmode power supply that may work however,in a complex pedal board setup switchmode supply noise may occur. It is recommended to use a high quality power supply (see above) to avoid such issues.

How does it compare to a vintage Deluxe Memory Man?

The echo 600 is a cleaner, brighter delay than the DMM while still retaining the analog warmth and with more luscious modulation. It uses 3 x MN3005 bbd chips as appose to 2 of the DMM. Its design is about getting the best out of each chip as appose to more delay time.

Review:

Below is a little review, which I hope you enjoy.
Many thanks again,
James

The sound of this pedal is off-the-charts!  The voicing of the repeats is just perfect.
The repeats are bright enough to be useful for slapback echoes on the short settings, but also for that 3/4 beat delay trick used by Gilmour, Edge et al on the longer settings.
What is also notable is the way the repeats gradually evolve, getting nicely blurry by the 4th and 5th repeats; you hear them becoming hazy, dreamy, atmospheric.
The chorus / vibrato section is a nice way to add flavour to the repeats, and with deeper settings it can take the place of another modulation pedal.
The sound of the dry signal through whatever preamp circuitry you are using is great too; when setting the input / output levels, I had Blend set to zero, and when level matched, there’s an additional “depth” to the sound, for want of a better word.
Meanwhile I find the pedal adds no detectable noise to my chain whatsoever.  (Unlike all the other boutique pedals on my board!)
The layout of the pedal is fun, and the tactile experience is intuitive.
By way of reference, I have had just four dedicated delay pedals since I started my guitar journey in 1988.  Echo 600, Benson Delay, a Maxon AD999, and Seymour Duncan Vapour Trails.
The Maxon I had to sell, which was a pity; it was lovely.
Seymour Duncan is nice, but a bit dark.
Benson is excellent, but again it’s a bit dark sounding for some of things I enjoy doing with delays.  It's a keeper, nonetheless.
So, I think PastFx Echo 600 wins on balance!  It has the nicest voicing, and I am able to get what I need from it quickly.
In summary, what you have produced here is magical.
Well done!
