This is a premium, boutique grade amplifier that delivers world-class American-style clean tones at a price far below what you’d expect for this level of build quality, tone, and reliability. It’s a Dr. Z EZG-50, converted from a head into a custom 1x12 combo by a luthier, and upgraded with a Celestion Century neodymium speaker. The result is a lightweight, portable, and stage-ready amp that easily competes with amps costing $3,000–$4,000+ CAD.
Unlike most modern production amps, this is a hand-wired, point-to-point amplifier no printed circuit boards, no surface-mount components, and no shortcuts. Every part is **serviceable, maintainable, and built to last a lifetime. This is the kind of amp you keep for decades not something that ends up in a landfill greenboards burn once and forever.
-50W all-tube power massive headroom and clarity
-Hand-wired turret board construction – no PCBs
-Custom 1x12 combo cabinet(built by a luthier)
-Celestion Century 12" speaker – lightweight neodymium, excellent articulation
-Controls: Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Reverb, and Master Volume
-Built in the USA
I don’t have the original cab the tubes are new unused and theres no alterations made in the mother board or any repair done on it
-Amp sounds and functions as it should
-New reverb tank installed physically active but currently not passing signal; likely a
reverb driver tube issue(common and inexpensive fix)
-All other tubes are brand new the reason of selling it is that i never use it cause i dont have a car and i can bring it to my gigs.
-Cosmetic wear
-Stored in a smoke-free studio
-Three spare tubes
-Custom combo cabinet (conversion by a luthier)
-Celestion Century speaker upgrade better tone, less weight

Why This Amp?
This is not a mass-produced, green-board amp built with disposable components. It’s a hand-wired, boutique amplifier, designed to last a lifetime and amps like the EZG-50 are getting harder and harder to find. At this price point, finding anything comparable in tone, build quality, and serviceability is realistically impossible.
The EZG-50 was discontinued in 2022, but retailers like Musique Gagné still list them used for $2,400 + tax that’s nearly $2,800 CAD, and that’s without the upgraded speaker. Current Dr. Z models are selling for $3,000–$4,000 CAD or more, and that’s driven more by inflation than improved sound.
If you're looking for true boutique tone, handmade American quality, and long-term reliability, I’m offering this amp at a price that lets you give it a bit of love and still keep it affordable.
🎸 Come Try It
If you're in the montreal area, you're more than welcome to come try it out no pressure to buy it on the spot. I’m aware it’s not the prettiest amp out there; I picked the wrong guy for the cabinet job. But if tone is what matters to you, this amp absolutely delivers i’m a professional player and I’m absolutely confident that this will be one of the best amps you’ve ever heard, It sounds as good as it gets.
