I am offering here a Fender American Standard Stratocaster RW from 1990, one of the early US Corona, California premium models of the Fender Stratocaster with solid alder body (weighing 3.72kg), bolt-on maple neck with medium C-shaped neck profile, premium rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays and 22 PLEK'd medium frets, dynamic Kinman Blues Hum-Free singlecoil pickup set including Kinman No-Solder K7 harness (upgrade!), high-quality Fender USA 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge as well as Fender USA die-cast tuners in a classic high-gloss black finish with tortoise shell pickguard and chrome hardware, in very good condition, including the original Fender hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Ernie Ball strings.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the American Standard Stratocaster marked the successful relaunch of Fender’s U.S. production in Corona, California. Following the takeover by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, the American Standard quickly became the company’s new benchmark model, combining classic Stratocaster characteristics with numerous practical improvements in playability, tuning stability, and build quality. Today, the early Corona models in particular are among the most sought-after American Standards of all.
The resonant alder body delivers the typical balanced Stratocaster tone with clear highs, defined mids, and a tight bass foundation. Combined with the comfortable medium C neck profile and the 9.5" fingerboard radius, this creates an extremely comfortable playing experience that delights both vintage fans and modern guitarists alike. The frets, which have been PLEK optimized, also ensure exceptionally low string action and precise intonation across the entire fretboard.
An absolute highlight of this guitar, however, is the professional upgrade featuring three Kinman Blues Hum-Free singlecoil pickups, which have been among the most renowned noiseless singlecoils on the market for many years. Despite operating exclusively in passive mode, they combine the authentic vintage Stratocaster sound with nearly complete suppression of hum, without sacrificing the openness and dynamics typical of classic singlecoils. The pickup set is complemented by the solderless Kinman No-Solder K7 harness, which, in addition to particularly high-quality signal routing, features a blend control in place of the second tone pot, allowing the neck pickup to be blended in continuously in any configuration. This opens up a wide range of additional tone options!
The rest of the guitar’s features also meet the high quality standards of the early American Standard series. The Fender USA 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge ensures responsive tremolo action combined with excellent tuning stability, while the original Fender USA die-cast tuners operate reliably and precisely.
Visually, the guitar features a timeless high-gloss black finish, which, combined with the three-ply tortoise shell pickguard and shiny chrome hardware, gives it a particularly elegant and classic look.
