Made for just 2 years, the Silvertone Model 661 was an attempt to cash in on the folk music craze of the early 1960s. Unfortunately, interest, at the time, came and went and took the Model 661 along with it. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up an original instrument from the folk era. In fantastic shape for a 50 year old instrument, this tenor has a solid spruce top, laminate mahogany back and sides, and a strong, clear voice, perfect for playing in groups or as a solo instrument.
¾ sized latter-braced dreadnought body with a solid spruce top and laminate mahogany back and sides. Pinned rosewood bridge with shaped bone saddle. White plastic bridge pins.
U shaped birch neck with 19 fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Nickel open gear tuning machines with white plastic buttons. 1 3/16” nut width. 23” scale length.
Weight: 3 lbs. 12 oz.
