Ultra Face Si inherits the classic silicon tube fuzz tone, bringing you a Jimi Hendrix-style psychedelic rock experience. The unique circuit design ensures a rich, full, and textured tone.

Main Features

  • Classic silicon transistor Fuzz effect pedal.
  • True Bypass
  • Equipped with a solderless socket for quick replacement of NPN transistors.
  • External BIAS adjustment knob for a wider range of tone possibilities.

Specifications

  • Power: 9VDC ( negative center, positive outside)
  • Current consumption: 30mA
  • Dimensions: 88 (W) X 123 X 66 (H) mm (including jacks, knobs, etc.)
  • Weight: 488g
  • For product improvement, specifications and/or appearance may change without notice.
  • Panel Description
  • Footswitch This switch turns the effect on/off.
  • IN Jack This jack receives the signal from the guitar, other instruments, or effect pedals.
  • OUT Jack The output jack is used to connect this device to an amplifier or other effect pedals.
  • 9V DC Jack For connecting a power adapter (9VDC, 5.5Ãâ€?.1mm, negative center, positive outside).
  • FUZZ Knob This knob controls the intensity of the distortion effect. Turning it clockwise increases the distortion level.
  • VOLUME Knob This knob adjusts the volume when the effect is engaged.
  • BIAS Knob This knob controls the bias voltage of the second transistor, affecting the distortion characteristics and tone.
  • Indicator Light This light shows the effect's on/off state. It lights up when the effect is engaged. This light indicates whether the effect is being applied and does not represent the power status of the device.
  • Replacing Transistors Precautions
  1. Before any operation, make sure to disconnect the power adapter and input/output cables.
  2. It is recommended to place the effect pedal on a soft and flat surface when operating.
  3. Press the orange clip with moderate force to avoid damage.
  4. Only NPN transistors must be used; PNP transistors may cause device damage.
  5. If abnormal noise occurs after replacement, check if the transistor polarity is correct.

Steps

  1. Use a 3mm hex wrench to remove the four screws on both sides and remove the back cover.
  2. Locate the green quick connectors labeled Q1 and Q2.
  3. Gently press the orange clip to remove the existing transistor.
  4. Insert the new NPN transistor into the connector according to the polarity (C-B-E), and be sure to check the datasheet before installation to confirm the pin definition.
  5. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to adjust the blue first-stage bias trimmer (VR1) until the desired tone is achieved.
  • Recommended transistor models: BC108, BC109, 2N5088.
