Dope Priest DP-93 ZD - Particularity tailored upon several choice Black Russian 7D Big Muff's but generally speaking the DP-93 is a broad snapshot of certain choice features from the Sovtek era Big Muffs. The DP-93 (formerly known as circuit #7) is the most ample of the Priest family in low frequency response and the most refined in gain structure. The lows are dark and stout, with a very apparent midrange scoop. The high-end is healthy but not brittle or weak that still preserves an adequate backbone and musical artefacts at higher treble settings, making the DP-93 is an ideal fuzz tone for bass instruments and players requiring extended response in the lower registers. Equally capable of delivering thunderous clouds of mountain moving filthy fuzz to smooth creamy siren singing distortion, the DP-93 has the tonal palette to be your sole fuzz of choice.

Potentiometers feature a conductive polymer track rather than the traditional carbon track for increased durability and longevity. Our foot switches are heavy duty 3PDT types with hard-wire true bypass operation. Audio jacks feature Ni-Ag alloy self-cleaning contacts for optimal performance and reliability. The LED's fitted are low drain types with a wide and easy to see viewing angle. The control surface is functional with bold position markers and flush surface mounting control knobs. Circuit board population features capacitors with a polypropylene film construction, 1W commercial grade carbon film resistors and gain selected BC549C epitaxial planar silicon transistors. 93 vs. 93K

Both DP-93 models of the Dope Priest are based upon the 1990s Russian manufactured Sovtek Big Muff Pi. The DP-93 upon the rare 7D version featuring the 430 ohm emitter resistors, and the DP-93K upon the uber rare ‘Green Army Civil War‘ 7B units. Tonally, this is not a day and night comparison, as the differences are very subtle. The 93 is a hair tighter in low-end projection, whereas the 93K has a slightly throatier bark.
