We are proud to introduce the “Kinman-style” Adjustable Treble Bleed Circuit.
What makes the “Kinman-style” different than our other Adjustable Treble Bleed circuits is that it features in-series circuitry. This helps with certain guitar setups that have issues with the volume sweep with the parallel circuitry of the Adjustable Treble Bleed circuits.
If you have been having issues with the volume sweep with the treble bleed circuit you currently have installed, you should try the “Kinman-style.”
The “Kinman-style” treble bleed circuit will help with retaining of high frequencies at lower volumes. The circuit will also provide a more even tone and better overall sound to a guitar.
The Boffin FX Kinman-Style Treble Bleed (1,061 Hz Green) is optimized for PRS and Vintage Output Humbuckers because it offers the most subtle and "musical" high-end retention.
While hotter pickups need a "sharp" boost to stay clear, vintage-voiced pickups already have a balanced, harmonic-rich character that you don't want to overwhelm.
Why the 1,061 Hz "Green" Circuit is the best fit:
- Preserves "Woody" Midrange: Vintage humbuckers (like PAF styles) and PRS "58/15" or "85/15" pickups are prized for their warm, vocal midrange. This 1,061 Hz frequency filters out just enough mud to keep the notes defined without making the guitar sound thin or clinical.
- Transparent Volume Cleanup: Because it uses the Kinman-style series wiring, the volume taper feels completely natural. It’s perfect for the player who lives on their volume knob to transition from a creamy overdrive to a warm, organic clean.
- Avoids "Ice-Pick" Treble: Some treble bleeds can make a guitar sound harsh when rolled back. The Green circuit is tuned to be smooth and mellow, ensuring that your high-end remains sweet and never becomes "piercing."
Key Benefits for the Vintage Enthusiast:
- Retains Character: Your guitar still sounds like your guitar at lower volumes, just with a "blanket" lifted off the speaker.
- Ideal for 500k Pots: It is perfectly calibrated for the impedance of high-quality 500k pots commonly found in PRS, Gibson, and boutique builds.
- Versatile Performance: While great for humbuckers, this is also the top choice for Telecasters if you prefer a warmer, more traditional "roll-off" than the brighter Blue or Black circuits.
The circuit includes a built-in adjustable trimmer for tuning the bleed circuit.
Easy installation by soldering hookup wires to the Input and Output pads on the board .
The Boffin FX treble bleed circuit has a peel-and-stick adhesive on the bottom for seamless installation.
This version is ideal for low output pickups both single coil and humbucker. Ideal for neck pickups.
Selecting an Adjustable Treble Bleed Circuit:
Green - low output pickups both single coil and humbucker. Ideal for neck pickups.
Blue - Vintage humbuckers under 10k. Can be used for neck pickups.
Black - High output bridge pickups. Recommended for single coil Telecasters.
