Well-Hung "MAYHEM" 3" padded leather guitar strap hand-tooled/dyed

You got heavy 9 oz. vegtan cowhide leather. Hand tooled with five maple leaves in a familiar banished-from-Nashville "outlaw" style, hand-dyed, burnished edges, and leather buckstitching along the edges, (that white intermittent stitch). "MAYHEM" adjusts between 45-58, which is about 7 inches longer than most ladderback straps.

Instead of what you would expect to see down the front of this iconic guitar strap, you see "MAYHEM," which I hand-beveled into the leather in western outline letter style, (admittedly not the easiest job).

It's a rather striking package, certainly pro-duty. It's also padded. Other versions of this strap often stop short of lining and padding. This means you have that lumpy buckstitch on the reverse against your body - the padding really helps make a strap such a this much more comfortable and useable, even luxurious. The lining material is heavy-duty auto upholstery mimicing black suede. Tough and rather non-slip.

A strap like this is quite a challenge for any strapmaker, and I've been building straps for over a dozen years. Many hours go into the making of one of these, and you get details only handmade goods like this can do. It definitely feels handcrafted, like a bespoke custom. Far heavier, thicker and longer than your rather typical unremarkable strap found on a rack at the guitar store. Consider this the direct opposite of that. I estimate about eleven hours went into this one.
