Check out the video. Here is a very cool vintage 60's Slingerland set for double bass fans - Two 14x22" bass drums, each with a rail consolette! 8x12", 9x13", and 16x16" with 3-ply clear maple interiors, along with a matching 1-ply solid 5.5x14" Artist Model snare drum! These drums are all in nice player grade condition, finished in their original gold sparkle wrap. Perfect color match across all drums. Their bearing edges and interiors are in excellent shape. The chrome has a few small cosmetic blemishes, but a nice polished shine. The rails both have some unoriginal parts; particularly the hex nuts that have been replaced with different wingnuts to tighten the rail. The wrap has some instances of bubbling near lugs and light discoloration from drum to drum - more info below:
14x22" - Stamped June '63, Serial #16625. This bass drum is the left bass drum when viewed from the player's perspective. Its rail consolette is mounted on the right side for the 8x12", while a cymbal L-arm bracket is mounted on the left side. An original, functional interior muffler is installed! Not something you see on many Slingerland bass drums.
14x22" - No date stamp, Serial #35581. This bass drum is the right bass drum when viewed from the player's perspective. Its rail is mounted on the left side for the 9x13", and another cymbal L-arm bracket is mounted to the right side.
8x12 - Stamped March with a misprinted year. No badge or serial number as was standard for Slingerland toms of this era - same for the 13" and 16". Original slotted bracket has been replaced with one of our repros, but we'll include the two originals. This drum's wrap is in nice condition.
9x13" - Stamped June '63. As with the 8x12", the original slotted bracket has been replaced with one of our repros. One heavier cosmetic blemish to the left of the muffler panel, pictured.
16x16" - Stamped June '63. The floor tom has a bit of bubbling near all but a few lugs, with one 1-inch split in the wrap just to the right of the tone control knob pictured. Original push-button brackets are functional and hold the drum up nice and sturdy.
5x14" - No date stamp, Serial #16633. This drum is solid 1-ply and is in great condition inside and out. Its Zoomatic strainer is smoothly functional, as well as its tone control. The revered 1-ply Artist Model is a timeless classic!
