This is a hundred years old Loar era mandolin. if you value the combinatoon of rarity together with amazing playability This is for you. Low action without any buzzing. Straight neck. Truss rod. Pick guard ( I take it off but you can put it back if you choose). The model and year is faded on the label but the serial number clearly stamped inside the mandolin where neck joins the body is 11826 and the truss puts it as a Loar era. These truss rods were invented in 1921 and Loar started putting them on mandolins starting 1922. The early shape of truss rod being bell shaped with 2 screws is a definite sign of early Loar era mandolins.
No cracks on the sound board or back or sides.normal dents on the finish non of them reaches the wood.
The only dent is below the strap button not Deeper than a millimeter and also a very narrow separation of back and side at the tail end of the back ( very common to mandolins of this age) that both seems to be fixed years ago. No effect on the sound and playability of this instrument.
Will be shipped in a quality hard case ( not the original case).
The sound of this mandolin is so pure and original that I only played it in gigs with a goose neck condenser microphone .
The reason for selling is downsizing. I have a Breedlove OF American made also listed here on Reverb. Any one of them that sells first I will keep the other one.
