This is another personal favorite of mine…a genuine Gibson “Historic” Custom Shop ’58 Reissue Flying V Bass the 1st of 4 Limited Editions that they should have made back in the 50’s. It's got an insane special ordered “Inverness Green” finish that’s stunning & absolutely gorgeous. Its cool White pickgard & truss rod cover are just like a 50’s Korina V’s used from their 1983 production run. It was special ordered having a pair of unusual chrome Humbucking pickups w/a factory Schaller type fully adjustable bridge that makes this a very playable machine unlike most of the normal equipped V Basses w/black pickups & that huge useless T’bird bridge assembly. It’s the 1st of 4 made sporting its “Custom Shop” logo & inked on serial # on the back of its headstock. Documented by my buddy, Tom Murphy. Originally owned by Doug Culverson a 20+ year employee of Gibson who snagged it when he saw it new. Sold for Doug a few years later by Edwin, another Gibson long timer to the Japanese distributer Kurosawa. Comes w/its original leather strap in is Brown Tolex/pink lined hard case.
